POO POO BOMB IN 1998

In late March POO POO BOMB flew to Japan to take part in the U Experimental Theater Festival. They staged 3 performances of "Siam Ultra Love Spectacular" a surrealistiacally warped anti-Musical written and performed collaboratively sith Japanese comedienne NAOKO NOZAWA and he ASS BABOONS OF VENUS partner BOB LIMP.

The hour-long show, performed on April 2,3 & 4 at Tokyo's Hosei University Theater ws described in the programme as:

"Performance/A huge fish! A love story of Siamese twins, like nightmare weaved by black humour and parody. It sculpts out skin colors, race, discrimination -- an individual trying to live up to the expectation of society -- what's ordinary and what isn't? Searches for the contact point with the society through marriage. They stare right at you as soon as your eyes meet. Will they ram forward to happiness still staring?"

Joining POO POO BOMB and the ASS BABOONS on stage were EMI ELEONOLA, twisted tonsorial lead vocalist from Japanese band DEMI SEMI QUAVER (playing the narrator), MINO AKETA,chicken enthusiast (as the giant chicken) and school girl/exotic dancers YUKIKO TAKEUCHI and MARI NONOUE. Costumes for the show (designed by JOSEPHINE HUANG) were made in the US and flown over. Sets were constructed, painted and erected in 3 grueling days in the theater basement and the show blocked, teched and rehearsed on the 4th, leaving 3 days to stage the shows. Everything was broken down and re-packed immediately after the last night's performance, at which point the cast cabbed across town to an impromptu am guest stage appearance at GOGH IMAIZUMI'S fabulous monthly drag-club "DEPARTMENT H". The next morning POO POO BOMB flew back to the US.
