FUMBLING TOWARD ROCK:THE MIRIAM AND HELEN STORY (18 min) Fumbling
Toward Rock:The Miriam and Helen Story features protagonists Miriam Glass
and Helen Henderson as they finesse their way through an interview on
the timely cable access show "Child Stars: Where Are They Now?" The film
opens to anxious Miriam and Helen prepping themselves in the green room.
They emerge into the studio with gusto and an indomitable spirit. They
are faced by Brenda Barboni, an interviewer determined to politely give
these ladies the screws. The movie sails through the interview, featuring
entertaining cut-away shots of the women's youth and staged renditions
of their favorite original songs. Brenda drills away, attempting to unearth
an unhappy childhood or bring the house down by revealing that Helen is
gay. The characters are earnest, inept and sincere, compelling in their
commitment to delusions of grandeur and the rock star world they have
created for themselves. The story rockets to a roaring song and dance
finale, filledwith hilarity, redemption and jazz hands. Written &
Directed by Tara Jepsen and Beth Lisick. Co-Directed by Sini Andersen. |

ACELDEMA'S
DREAM CATCHER
(35min) In the tradition of
the abominable Dr. Phibes and the infamous ILSA epics, comes Aceldema's
Dream Catcher a high action short starring Louanne Ponder, Ron Zisook,
and David Marshall all members of the award winning comedy collective,
Meet Aceldema: the Dr. Mengele of the New Age Healing. Together with her two cohorts, the unbalanced Ian Harrison, and the shifty Kharman Ghia Sabrosa, she is set to send the world of New Age Healing on its ear. Her methods and beliefs may be beyond most human comprehension, but whoever said being first was easy. Her ace in the hole is a device called the DREAM CATCHER. A mechanism just beginning its test run after decades of intense research. Once donned by a captive subject, the Dream Catcher is able to scan and manipulate the sub conscious mind; however, there is one lingering and disturbing problem: to date, not one single subject has survived a single session. But one must not forget to make an omelet; you must break some eggs. The good of humanity as a whole must come before the suffering of a few individuals. Aceldema's quest for domination over mankind's subconscious reaches a fevered pitch as her academy of New Age Healing opens for business in a rural Louisiana. The captive student body is in for the fight of its life in ACELDEMA'S DREAM CATCHER! A very funny and disturbing ride through 21st century fad spiritualism. "The funniest Damn show I've ever seen" - Graig Kostich, VP Warner Bros. "Sick! I loved it." - Micheal Lumpkin, Director, SF Int'l Lesbian & Gay Film Festival "Get out the Garlic and Sackcloth Geeves!" - New Music Express "I'll be looking for the Ron & Loaunne show..." - Larry Gelbart, MASH ACELDEMA A stunning face, the body of Christy Turlington, and the mind of Dr. Mengele, all rolled into one ball of new age obsessed fury. Of undetermined age and origin, this high steppin' honey is possessed of the singular goal of dominating the human subconscious. Fresh out of an intense two-year depression. The "revitalized" Aceldema (thanks to Dr. Vandas of Caracas), is set to conquer the commoners of this world with her groundbreaking discovery, the Dream Catcher. Will Fishville, Louisiana ever be the same? KHARMAN GHIA SABROSA After a disastrous run at San Juan's Salon De Sebring, it was time for this Puerto Rican coxcomb to take stock of his situation: change was indeed in order. His close knit family was pushing him towards an unwanted career as a nail technician, and the mounting stress was beginning to take its toll although outwardly, one would never know. Barley into his forties, the precise care with which he lavished on his appearance was apparent he looked far younger. A semester at a junior college and the aforementioned stint at San Juan's premier salon weren't enough to prepare this dandy for his duties as head of metabolic typing at Dream Catcher Academy. IAN HARRISON An unstable home life, a succession of hurtful disappointments, and a lingering math disability have all conspired to produce this neurosis ridden robot, presently dedicated to his one and only obsession, the psychotic Aceldema. Possessor of a fine and robust singing voice, this exercise enthusiast enjoys free weights, wildlife programs, and disaster films.
